Having worked inside the system, attorney Anya Sanko understands how evidence is built — and how it can be challenged.

Anya Sanko spent over a decade inside the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department Forensic Laboratory as a forensic firearms analyst. She testified more than fifty times as an expert witness in state and federal court, including homicide and death penalty cases, often testifying against defense attorneys. Now she stands with you.

She understands how forensic evidence is collected, analyzed, documented, and presented to a jury because she was the one doing it. Prosecutors are used to defense attorneys who negotiate. They are far less comfortable when they face one who understands the science behind their evidence.

During law school, Anya served as Nevada Law Editor for the Nevada Law Journal, the flagship law review publication at UNLV’s Boyd School of Law. That role is reserved for top students and requires rigorous legal research and high-level writing. She graduated at the top of her class on a full academic scholarship, earning eleven CALI Awards for the highest grades in her courses.

She applies those skills to drafting motions, researching complex legal issues, and challenging the State’s case line by line.
